Wilmer Otto, Chairman        Arcola, Illinois                       

Wilmer has over 36 years of experience in farm equipment sales and distribution. He has been supplying agricultural and construction equipment to Ukraine, Russia and other CIS states for more than 10 years. In 2005, he partnered with Privat Bank and US ExIm Bank to establish an equipment leasing company in Ukraine. He is a principal partner in the Farm Pride Case-IH dealership in central Illinois. Wilmer also operates a real estate development company and is the largest operator of USDA Rural Rental Housing apartments based in Central Illinois.

 

Stephen Wright, CEO                        Kiev, Ukraine                          

Stephen has 20 years’ experience in development work including management of start-ups in the CIS.  Previously Stephen was the Project Manager for MEDA for the highly successful Ukraine Horticulture Development Project. Prior to joining MEDA, he worked for the World Bank Group and the IFC in Central Asia. His expertise is in agriculture and finance.  He has extensive knowledge of the local business environment in Ukraine. He holds an MA in Cross Cultural Studies from Fuller Graduate School. He speaks fluent Russian.

 

Peter Miller, Director            Champaign, Illinois                

Peter is the Executive Vice President of Equipment Direct West where he oversees the sourcing and export of agricultural equipment to Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Eastern Africa.  He is the co-founder of Schassburg Capital, a real estate development company in Sighisoara, Romania.  Peter is completing an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

 

Kerry Max,  Director of Inclusive Financial Services             Waterloo, Canada

 

joined MEDA in February 2014 as the Director of Inclusive Financial Services, providing technical advisory services and capacity building for financial institutions and their clients  in core micro and SME (including rural / agricultural) finance, value chain financing, digital finance/mobile banking and risk management.  Since his first development assignment in Benin in 1991, where he led a team promoting food security through women-led market gardens, microfinance and community capacity building, Kerry has worked with think tanks, NGOs and donors in promoting market-based approaches to economic development program and policy design and implementation. During his more than 20 years as a development professional, Kerry has worked and lived in Africa, Asia and Latin America, and has supported initiatives relating to private sector development, financial services, trade, investment, and project management.  His 14 year tenure with the Canadian International Development Agency involved diverse, multidisciplinary engagement as a development economist, project and program manager, head of aid, and economic growth specialist.  In the four years prior to joining MEDA, Kerry led a team of private sector development, finance, natural resources, energy and mining specialists in supporting bilateral programs in the implementation of DFATD's Sustainable Economic Growth strategy.  Kerry graduated from the University of Toronto's International Development studies cooperative program in Political Economy and Physical and Ecological Resource Management, and has an M. Phil in Economics from Oxford University.  Kerry is fluent in English and French, and strong in Spanish

Meet Our Teem

Oleg Osaulyuk, CEO, has solid background in agricultural development and financing with experience in improving the efficiency of small and medium farmers and rural entrepreneurs in Ukraine. Being with MEDA for the last 5 years, as Technical Team Manager of the Ukraine Horticulture Development Project, Mr. Osaulyuk builded capacity of local partners and developed strategies for improving access to markets for small producers. He has vast experience in the area of agricultural financing and input supply, operational support, regional development strategies and environmental issues. Elena Perevertaylo (CA) has over 5 years of experience in accounting. She graduated from Crimean Agriculture University with degree in Finance and Banking. Prior to joining ACM, Elena worked as a controller at several national companies. Elena currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of ACM, responsible for the financial management and implementing internal controls of ACM. Tamila Shabanova (Acting COO) is responsible for data management, creating sales reports, and maintaining sales-related statistics for Agro Capital Management. Tamila holds a Masters in International Economics from Taurida National Vernadsky University, Crimea. She worked as an executive assistant at a Crimean credit union before deciding to pursue her career in international business.
